The Process of Adding a Swim Platform-ULTRA to Your Boat: What You Need to Know

If you’ve read our latest blog, you’re knowledgeable about all that a Swim Platform-ULTRA has to offer. It’ll expand your usable boat space, it won’t overload your boat, and it holds up to 800 pounds. Let’s focus in on the specifics of the application process!

Is a Swim Platform Right for YOUR Boat?

You know that adding a swim platform is right for YOU, but let’s narrow in on what types of boats a Swim Platform-ULTRA is compatible with. Your boat is most likely in the clear to add a swim platform unless it’s a pontoon.

The exclusivity of adding a Swim Platform-ULTRA is because of how its specifically applied and manufactured.

The Proof Is in the Pudding

Brackets will be installed on your boat and on the swim platform to support the Swim Platform-ULTRA, by measuring, sanding, and screwing, followed by trimming of the rub rail to be flush to your boat, and adding sealant between the two. Of course, the process is much more integral, including the preparation and perfecting steps, but we will spare you the not-so-glamorous details here!

There are different ways to mount a Swim Platform-ULTRA. Different boats will have different needs. Depending on your specific boat, the method in which the swim platform is mounted will vary.

  • Top Mount Platform: This requires a boat to have an existing integrated or molded in platform. The new platform has a tongue that gets glued and screwed on top of the integrated platform and then it extends past the rear of the boat at the same height. It looks seamless and integrated.

  • Under Mount Platform: This is mounted to the rear of the boat and under the rub rail. This is a personal choice on how you want the new platform, most of the time the boat has an integrated platform so the new one will be stepped down and mounted lower. The new platform is attached with adjustable brackets and poles. Not all boats can have this style of platform.

  • Transom Mount Platform: This option is for boats with flat transoms. The new platform is attached with adjustable brackets and poles.

Another key point to remember is that there is absolutely zero wood in the core or anywhere on these platforms. The core is made of 100% composite materials as opposed to the competition being made of polyester covered wood.

Applying the Platform

To make the application process as simple as possible for you, we can travel to your boat for the installation process, whether your boat is in a marina, your home, or event in storage (even during the wintertime!)
